Studio Work in Oil and Pastels
I currently have Three Pictures Hanging inside the main entrance at Governors State University in University Park IL. They are part of a group show with other Guild artists from Union Street curated by Michele Owens. (All three pictured left)
"Cloudy Sky, Treeline", 19x13 Pastel
This en plein air pastel painted at the open area along the pond and trail in Downtown Frankfort (I need to find out the name of that park!)
"Trees, Shadows, Sunlight, Fantasy" 36x24 Oil Painting
Started out as a painting based on one of my photos from our trip to Utah but ended being an almost compete construct of my imagination (the reason for "Fantasy" in the name)
"Storm Coming, Maybe" 26x19 Pastel
Another sky/cloud painting done En Plein Air (actually my back deck - just left out the bank & condos). Just after I started great thick black clouds began rolling in. But by the time I finished the sky was almost cloud free. Fortunately, I took a few photos early on so I had a reference for completing the picture. I've learned clouds change VERY fast and will often take a phtoto for reference, though sometimes I just ending painting the evolution.
