still life
about two years ago I began to pick up my paints again after a long peroid of inattention. At the same time I began experimenting with pastels - a medium I hadn't used successfully before. intending to start by concentrating on skills and the basics I began with still life drawings and paintings. these quickly evolved into paintings and pastel drawings of fruits and vegetables set against interesting fabrics. i am fascinated by the shapes and colors available in the produce department. paired (peared, HAH) with patterned fabric my groceries are endlessly fascinating.
landscape and garden
i draw "on site" when i can but landscapes and garden pics are also often based on my photos and sketches.

i have been doing mostly quick sketch when i go the the workshops but hope do more finished drawings and paintings soon
